Welcome to my world of fitness! 

Hello, I'm Valerie Williams, the driving force behind Train Like An Athlete Fitness. My journey has led me to a profound realisation – the true magic in fitness happens when we shift our focus from how our bodies look to what they can achieve.

From an early age, I was active and drawn to a variety of sports and physical challenges. Starting in school, I explored everything from track athletics and team sports to more intensive practices like strength training, cycling, kickboxing, boxing, and even indoor climbing. Being active became a central part of who I am, and that passion only deepened as I grew older.

I am a certified personal trainer, but I’ve chosen a different path in fitness—one that’s less about one-on-one training and more about building a small community of people who share a passion for performance, wellness, and strength. I launched my podcast, The Lens On Fitness Podcast, to connect with individuals from all walks of life and to explore the mental and emotional aspects of fitness as well as the physical.

Through Train Like An Athlete Fitness, my goal is to empower others to experience fitness in a way that’s rooted in performance, resilience, and genuine growth. Whether it’s through podcasts, videos, or articles, I’m here to guide you in a fitness approach that’s more about what your body can do than how it looks. It took me time to shift my own mindset, and I want to help you get there faster. Together, let’s tap into your full potential by celebrating what your body is capable of.
